Danny Cohen, founder and Executive Director of Unsilence, sent one of the FTH mods this note:

I just saw your name on our recent Unsilence donors list and I wanted to say a huge THANK YOU!!!! I also saw a number of other donations that came through around the same time, which, if I'm right, came through the Fandom Trumps Hate campaign, too. Your contributions will be going directly to our new Unsilence community dialogue programs on gun violence, family trauma, and mental health - we're partnering with an incredible group of women - The Sisterhood - all mothers of color in Chicago who have lost children to gun violence, including police brutality. I'm so so grateful for your support!!

We've chosen to focus FTH on smaller organizations like Unsilence for this very reason - even if we only manage to send a few hundred dollars their way, that amount can make a big difference for an initiative like this one!
