The 2025 Fan Crafts Bazaar is now open!

We don't allow physical fanworks in the main auction for a variety of reasons, so to accommodate these we started the FTH Fan Crafts Bazaar.

This year the Bazaar is a record size, with 28 crafters offering a wide variety of crafts in dozens of fandoms (and plenty who will create for any fandom you like).

Every crafter has set up their own stall with their own policies - some are offering custom-made creations while some are ready to ship; some are holding their own auctions while some items have a set price. So be sure to read the details carefully!

The Bazaar will stay open until March 10, so if you don't win the auctions you have your eye on in the main event, head back over there to find other places to direct your donations toward! (But some may be ending their auctions earlier than the 10th, while others may run out of ready-made stock before then, so check those details.)

We'll also continue to add stalls as they come in over the next couple of days, so be sure to check again in a few days to see what's been added - and if you're a crafter who hasn't had a chance to sign up, you still can!

The Fandom Trumps Hate Fan Crafts Bazaar

Every year, we get emails and comments from people who make physical fan crafts or art who want to list their creations in FTH. There are a variety of reasons that non-digital fanworks are not a good fit for the way we run the main FTH auction, but in 2020 we introduced the Fan Crafts Bazaar, a way for fan crafters to support our orgs parallel to the main auction.

There are a few reasons physical crafts aren't a good fit for the main auction, but we know that many people would love to use their craftiness to support our organizations. Instead, welcome to the Fan Crafts Bazaar!

How it works: Fan crafters set up their own "stalls" on the site of their choice. They can have set prices or use an auction format, and their crafts can be either ready-made or made-to-order. Our main requirement is that they handle money the same way we do for the FTH auction: you send your donation to the organization in question, then send the crafter proof of donation (usually a screenshot of a receipt), and they send you your item.

We will add information about all the stalls to this post, where you can browse all the offerings! Beyond that, the FTH mods will not be involved in these transactions. Please do not contact us about your fan craft items.

We'll be keeping signups for the bazaar open a few more days, so check back as we add new craft stalls all week long!

We are excited to say that, after a hiatus in 2021, the Fan Crafts Bazaar is back!

FTH Fan Crafts Bazaar

If you are a fan crafter:

You will set up your own “stall” for the bazaar - that is, a page (on whatever site is convenient for you) with all the details on what you’re offering, prices, how to contact you, etc. You can use an auction format if you’d like, or you can have set prices, or any other pricing system. Our one requirement is that you do not take payment directly but, as with the main FTH auctions, you ask buyers to donate directly to one of our organizations and send you proof of their donation.

Once you have your stall set up, fill out our form and let us know all the details.

At the same time we put up auction pages for browsing week, we’ll create our Fan Crafts Bazaar page with details about and links to each crafter’s stall.

After the auctions are over, we’ll email you to find out how much you collected for each of the organizations so we can add it to our total.

If you would like to donate in exchange for fan crafts:

Keep a look out on Tumblr or Dreamwidth for our Fan Crafts Bazaar page. You’ll be able to browse all of the stalls with descriptions of what they’re offering and in which fandoms.

You can click through to each crafter’s stall for full details, and from there you will contact them to work out donations and delivery.

Note: FTH will not be involved in craft transactions beyond this point. We pride ourselves on the amount of followup we do in our main auction. We can’t force anyone to follow through, but we work throughout the year to encourage communication between bidders and creators and to ensure that as many creators as possible meet the deadline. We will not be doing this for fan crafts. These transactions are 100% between the bidder and the crafter. If you don’t receive your craft, by all means let us know so that we don’t include crafters who don’t follow through in future Bazaars, but that is as far as our involvement will go.

How do I sign up if I want to host my stall on Tumblr, where I can't get a URL to give you until I post it publicly?

First: Please don’t make the post right now. If many people do that, it will probably just lead to confusion.

Instead: The Fan Crafts Bazaar will go live at the same time that auctions go up for bidding week, February 20th, and close at the same time auctions do on the 27th. But we will keep the signup form open until auctions open on the 23rd. We will continue to add crafters to the bazaar as they sign up.

So you can wait to make your post on the 20th and then sign up. You can probably also get away with making the post a day or two early to get signed up before it goes live; that probably won’t cause much confusion. We just won’t be advertising you until the 20th.

If you’re putting up a page somewhere other than Tumblr, where you can, say, make a private post and then unprivate it on the 20th without the URL changing, or on your own website where you have control over it, then feel free to sign up at any time!

Don't forget - auction bidding doesn't start until Monday, but you can already check out a variety of physical fanworks at our Fan Crafts Bazaar! We're also still accepting fan crafter signups until Monday.
